the lover's lullaby

i saw the moon this night, and she was beautiful
too long was i denied her light
too long was i in dark of night
but now her smile does shine on me
glowing white and pleasantly
out there among the sea of stars
we danced all night
our footsteps rippled out into the universe
worlds were made and galaxies grown
as through the night our love was sewn
but as all things which are longed to stay
she fades away in light of day
the sun rose up to my dismay
and with his sword of ray at side
he cut my love as she fell from high
toppling down behind the hills
i watched her drown the clouds blood red
and as the her eyes did fall from mine
i held her close and sang this rhyme
"all good things do have their time
whats bad is when we think we ought
to hold to things for which we've sought
if only we could let things be
o the beauty we would see
i know this as i hold you fast
i know this moment will not last
so here i go
letting go
i know one day
we'll find our way
into each others arms"
